What Longevity Wellness is Doing to Give Back this Holiday Season

I think it’s safe to say that 2020 has been a hard year. No doubt about it.

Which made it really hard to give back to others this year, but even more so for small businesses.

Small businesses like Longevity Wellness and so many others were affected by the Coronavirus. Which made it difficult for them to stay afloat, let alone think about giving back to others who are also struggling.

Luckily, Longevity Wellness has made it through the year so far with the help of our amazing massage therapists and loyal clients.

Because we were able to keep steady business, our team at Longevity decided to give back to children and families in the local Charleston area.

We decided to sponsor children and families in dire need through the Lowcountry Orphan Relief (LOR) and My Sister’s House.

So, after contacting both organizations, they informed us of how their individual processes operate and their respective deadlines.

Then, our team got to work.

Jessica put up the Christmas tree, Emily strung up the lights, Liz and Shane hung snowflakes, the whole nine yards. We completely transformed Longevity Wellness into a Winter Wonderland.

On the Christmas tree, you’ll find blue ribbons tied to the branches with little slips of paper attached. On the paper is the name of a struggling child or family member from LOR or My Sister’s House along with a list of things they need most.

Throughout the last week of November and the first two weeks of December, we encouraged clients and others to pick someone from the tree to sponsor for Christmas. We didn’t really know what to expect or if people would respond positively to our promotion.

The final drop-off day for presents was December 15th and as the day drew nearer, more and more people were stopping by the office; either to pick up a blue ribbon or to drop off their goodies with the same blue ribbon attached.

We watched in amazement as the space underneath this little tree in our Winter Wonderland started to get smaller as more presents were crowded under it.

By the time December 15th rolled around, Longevity Wellness helped to sponsor Christmas for 15 people in need from the Lowcountry Orphan Relief and My Sister’s House this holiday season.

15 people. Two adults, 13 children. Four from My Sister’s House and 11 from the Lowcountry Orphan Relief.

We couldn’t be more grateful to our incredible clients, the Lowcountry Orphan Relief, My Sister’s House, and the community for chipping in to make the holidays a little more special for these people.

I remember how surreal it felt as our massage therapist Jessica dropped off the last load of gifts.

Maybe this year wasn’t what we all expected. Okay, it definitely wasn’t what we all expected. But I will say, it was nice to be able to end it on a wholesome note and see everyone give back to the local Charleston community.

On behalf of Longevity Wellness, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who helped our team make this happen!! We could not have done it without you.
